New Zealand

I have many happy memories of our trip. I loved our ocean room at Punikaki, the sheep mob, the fjord trip, bubbling mud, watching Susan and Milo eat crawfish, kayaking, biking, yummy sweet potato fries, the huge tree trunk growing in the middle of the Donegal house dining room, the skeleton playing the piano in Nelson, the lunch at Montana winery, fancy undies drying on the line and breakfast served in spike heels, two room suites (immaculate), huge hedges of trimmed pine trees, and twisty twisty twisty all day long.
We flew to New York on the Jet Blue red eye flight, arriving at JFK and driving to Connecticut in a burnt orange colored car. I figured I would have an easy time spotting it.

Reminiscing

I'm back in Seattle now, and determined to sort out some of my many boxes. I'm committing to sorting for 30 minutes a day. Today, I worked on a box from my 3 years in Connecticut with a huge stack of papers and some mementoes.

My objective is to get to the top of Mt. Si trail in 2 hours, so Dad thought it would be a good idea to carry my gear and see how fast I could hike it with a minimum pack.

Vietnam Trip, February 2007

I never thought of Vietnam as a travel destination, but our trip with the UW Alumni Association was very educational and enjoyable. Our guide, Tam, which pronounced incorrectly can be 4 other meanings, was amazing in his knowledge, humor, and friendliness. Dad wrote home, so we have a journal. I was ill three times, and not a very good recorder.
